Privacy Policy
Version 2026-09-01 · Effective September 1, 2026 · Java Books, LLC
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Java Books, LLC handles information in connection with Know Thy Self for Business. The App is designed to keep your questionnaire data on your own device. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details.
2. Information We Collect
Questionnaire answers and readings. Your answers, your scores, and the reading generated from them are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us. If you download a PDF or Word report, that file is generated on your device. If you copy a share link, your scores are encoded into the link itself; anyone you send that link to can view the resulting reading, so share it deliberately.
Consent records. When you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, we store a consent record on our servers as evidence of that acceptance. Each record contains a randomly generated browser identifier (not tied to your identity), the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, the date and time of acceptance, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string. A copy of the same record is also stored in your browser's local storage so the App knows you have already accepted.
Technical and log data. Our hosting provider processes standard request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, and user agent in order to serve the App and to protect it from abuse.
3. How We Use Information
We use consent records solely to demonstrate that a specific browser accepted a specific version of our Terms and Privacy Policy at a specific time, and to determine whether you need to review an updated version. We use technical and log data to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App. We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles.
4. Third-Party Services
Lovable Cloud provides the App's hosting and the database that stores consent records; it processes request data and the consent fields listed above on our behalf. Google Fonts serves the App's typefaces; requesting a font transmits your IP address and user agent to Google. We do not use analytics, advertising networks, or third-party tracking pixels in the App.
5. Data Retention
Consent records are append-only: they are never edited or deleted through the App, because their purpose is to be a durable evidence trail. We retain them for as long as we may need to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, and in any event for no less than the applicable statute of limitations. Locally stored data — your consent copy and any in-progress answers — remains on your device until you clear your browser storage. Server log data is retained for a limited operational period by our hosting provider.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because consent records exist as legal evidence, we may decline a deletion request for those records where retention is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim, as permitted by applicable law. You can always delete your locally stored data by clearing your browser storage; doing so will cause the acceptance screen to appear again.
To exercise a right, contact us at customersarelikefish@gmail.com. We may ask for information sufficient to identify the relevant record.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
The App does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to remember your consent (version, timestamp, and browser identifier) and to keep your session usable. This storage is strictly functional; blocking or clearing it will not break the App but will cause you to be asked for consent again.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact customersarelikefish@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy. Each version carries a version identifier and effective date, and a material change will trigger the acceptance screen again so your acceptance of the new version is recorded. Questions may be directed to Java Books, LLC at customersarelikefish@gmail.com.
